This gorgeous antique window was begging for a new life and thus became the idea to transform it into a coffee themed memo board.
We have this awesome friend, Rick that works on houses & is kind enough to bring us any amazing old windows that would be tossed in a dumpster otherwise. Yay! Thank you for salvaging these gorgeous relics for us, Rick.
This is one of my favourite projects. I love how it turned out, even though I had super anxiety starting work on it.
This old window came equip with natural crackles & chippies throughout the paint. We just accented them with some of our homemade dark finishing wax. It also had amazing bubbled glass. It was missing one pane so we had to think of a way to incorporate that into the design & I think it actually came in handy. Having the little clothes pegs for notes or recipes is pretty cute.
We painted the back of the bottom left pane to become a dry erase board, painted the front of the centre middle pane with chalkboard paint and put some twine in the missing pane with eye hooks & painted some clothes pins black to hold notes or recipes. We left the top two panes blank because the natural glass was so beautiful. We figured those could be used as extra dry erase boards or even have an old recipe taped to the back. We transferred a coffee graphic from Freepik onto the centre pane.
We added adorable lil’ antique knobbies to the bottom to be used for hanging tea balls, dish towels, mugs etc. & finally, hung it with more old eye hooks & heavy-duty twine.
I would happily keep this for my own home if I could but it’s listed for sale on our Facebook group. ❤
Have you redone any old windows for your home or customers? We’d love for you to share with us in the comments below.
