I love my bakery sign! I made this for our kitchen, above the stove & it really catches your eye when you walk in.
First I cut 5 boards to the same length and laid them out on long strapping boards. I nailed the strapping in, with a gap in between each. Then I painted all of the boards white.
I played around with the layout of my stencils to spell out bakery & once they were where I liked them, I taped them in place.
While that dried, I typed up my design using Photoshop but you can also use Picmonkey. I reversed the image & then printed to transfer. You can also print normal and trace using carbon paper (US) & then paint on.
I printed these words separately to make them bigger & they went on a little crooked so thank goodness this sign was a personal project.
My inspiration came from this sign by FunkyJunk Interiors:
Hers is soooo beautiful! & she has a line of stencils (including this bakery one) that you can find by reading her post about it here: Fake It ’till Ya Make It With a DIY Shiplap Styled BAKERY Sign
Now that I see them both side by side I want to do another one, bigger and add some s hooks! ^_^
